Apple recently launched iPhone 12 on October 13, 2020. The event was also streamed on Apple’s website, in the Apple TV app and on the company’s YouTube channel. Apple has introduced its iPhone 12 line up with four models: iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 pro and iPhone 12 pro max.
iPhone 12 versions are starting from 699$ while pro versions are starting at 999$. The only major difference is telephoto lens camera and LiDAR technology which is not a much of a bargain.
Apple has introduced some new features. For starters, iPhone 12 is the first line up with 5G support. Apple has introduced new Retina Display calling Super Retina XDR showing better darks and better contrasts.

Apple has also made some physical changes. Apple has changed its iPhone’s look from roundish glossy finishes to plain flattish matt finishes. This reminded me of my first iPhone (iPhone 5). Apple has also introduced new colours, more optional vibrant colours for iPhone 12 models and bossy darkish colours for iPhone 12 pro models.
And the latest bargain point Apple has told in its event is the LiDAR technology, which NASA is using, it will be available in Pro models. It has also been introduced in iPad Pro 2020. Basically, it is a radar and a scanner. It will enhance the AR capabilities of new iPhone, can 3D scan things in your room, better bokeh effects, AR gaming etc. All in all, this is the overview of the new iPhone 12 line up of 2020.
